White River’s boys tennis team may have lost a 4-1 match to Enumclaw Sept. 6, but they won the SPSL 2A contests that counted Sept. 7 and Friday.

The Hornets topped Sumner 3-2 Friday, getting wins from Drew Maras in No. 1 singles and a pair of doubles victories.

Maras won 6-4, 7-5 after taking the tiebreaker. Sam and Hunter Bruckbauer paired up for a tie-breaking win as well going 6-3, 6-6 (15-13).  WRHS Lyle and Tommy McCarragher also went the distance winning 7-5, 6-6 (9-7).

Against Clover Park Sept. 7, the Hornets picked up two forfeits and also got wins from David Connelly and the doubles team of Maras and Hunter Bruckbauer.

Connelly was the Hornets’ lone winner against Enumclaw.
