The Enumclaw High boys water polo team went two-and-out at the state tournament Thursday evening at Rogers High in Puyallup.

The No. 8-ranked Hornets (the No. 10 seed into the tournament) had the toughest draw in pool play, facing defending state champion and No. 1-ranked Curtis for its opener. The Vikings rolled over Enumclaw 19-2. EHS's goals coming from Will Cooper and Quinn Warner.

In Game 2, the Hornets faced Roosevelt, which beat Bainbridge Monday night for its berth. Hornet Bennon VanHoof scored early for a lead and the Hornets trailed by four entering the fourth quarter, but the Roughriders took the game 17-8 to advance to Friday's competition at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

The Hornets finished the season 14-23 overall and lose just one senior off this year's team.
