WRHS WRESTLING: Thompson earns title at Rick Sales tournament

Bryce Thompson grabbed the White River High wrestling team's lone title at Saturday's Rick Sales tournament in Fife. The 120-pound Thompson eked out a 3-2 decision over Bryce MacDicken of Sultan for the crown.

The Hornets finished seventh as a team. Centralia won the tournament.

Carl Klein was also in the finals, dropping a 7-2 decsion to Tanner Sample of Elma for second place at 126.

Hornet teammate Cody Schwab finished third at 113 pounds.

Tyler Worthen, 138, and Brandt McGuire, 285, earned fourth-place finishes.

Bryan Walker, 132, Gavin Stevenson, 152, Garrett Robertson, 182, and Andre Fails, 195, all finished fifth.
