DISTRICT BASKETBALL FINALS: White River girls win, boys lose

The White River High girls took the West Central District No.1 seed Monday with a 41-32 victory over Port Angeles.

The Hornet girls next play at 6 p.m. Saturday at Mount Tahoma High vs. Sehome.

The White River boys next play at 6 p.m. Friday at Mount Tahoma High. Their opponent will be the winner of Tuesday's contest between North Thurston and Wahougal.

Both White River squads are in the state Sweet 16. This weekend's games are the regional round of the state tournament and winners will advance to the Elite Eight at Yakima's SunDome. Yakima's Hardwood Classic runs March 1-3.
