Zillbauer and Clare, both juniors, lost their first match to Sophia Gage and Lydia Venditti from Mercer Island 6-1, 6-2. Mercer Island ended up taking second.

The girls won their next round over Helena Eitel and Megan Hodge from Lakeside 6-2, 6-4.

The next match the girls won 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 over Bishop Blanchet.

The girls lost the final match of the tournament 6-0, 6-0 to Sofia Morrison and Sarah Morgan from Southridge.

Coach Rick Carel said by email, “For two young players that was a great tournament. (They) lost to a team that was in the finals then won against a very good Lakeside team. I’m very proud of them.”
