The Sumner-based Bulldogs Blue baseball team, with players from Black Diamond, went 64-16 this year, winning the 13U USSSA World Series in Southern California held July 23-29.

Teams from Washington, California, New Mexico, Nevada and Hawaii participated in the series.

The team also won 3 other tournaments throughout the year.
