The White River girls volleyball team lost its first match of the WIAA State 2A tournament this morning.

The Hornets took on the Selah High Vikings, eventually falling 3-0.

Individual match scores were 14-25, 12-25, 10-25.

The tournament is double elimination, so the Hornets still have a shot at a seventh or eighth place finish.

The team plays Sehome High at 6:30 p.m. tonight, moving their play venue from Pierce College to Lakes High School; if they win, they continue play into tomorrow.
