There's no letting up for the girls of the Enumclaw High gymnastics program.
Still riding high from last season's state championship, the team has opened the 2012-13 season with a pair of convincing performances.
The latest came the evening of Dec., 12, when the EHS crew hosted a four-team meet at Peak Gymnastics. Enumclaw clearly was the cream of the crop, totaling 165.4 team points to race past second-place Auburn High, which finished with 147.25. Sumner was third with 140.8 and Bonney Lake trailed with 125.45.
Enumclaw's Olivia Bannerot again showed top form in winning three of the four individual events and capturing all-around honors. Teammate Victoria Hernandez was third in the all-around while Molly Mattheis placed fourth and Emily Berte was fifth.
Bannerot won the bars, vault and floor exercise and tied for second on the beam. Hernandez was second in the vault, tied for third on the beam, was fourth on the bars and placed fifth in the floor exercise. Mattheis took first on the beam, third in the vault, fourth on the floor and seventh on bars. Berte was second in the floor exercise, tied for second on the beam, tied for fifth in the vault and tied for 12th on the bars.
