The Enumclaw and Sumner girls squared off Saturday on the Enumclaw basketball court with EHS winning 40-30.

Both teams made solid runs with Sumner taking the first quarter 11-7 and Enumclaw showing its strength in the second, scoring 21 points to Sumner’s seven.

The Hornets’ outside shooting came to life in the second frame, which put the Hornets up for the remainder of the game.

Calli Remitz was the leading scorer for the Hornets with nine, followed by Katie Holland with seven.

Enumclaw took a 28-18 advantage into halftime.

In the fourth, Enumclaw played well in the paint and pressured the ball defensively, holding Sumner to four points while the Hornets hit seven.

Enumclaw travelled to Auburn Mountainview Tuesday and hosts Lakes 7 p.m. Thursday. Both are South Puget Sound League 3A games.

Sumner travels to Decatur for a 4 p.m. SPSL 2A game.
