The Enumclaw High wrestling team returns to the mat for the 2013 season with high hopes.

Adam Eilers takes over the head coaching job following the retirement of Lee Reichert last May.

Eilers has been coaching with Reichert for the past eight years.

Enumclaw showed the potential of a strong season by winning the White River Classic. The Hornets scored 149 points, with Yelm second at 147 and Bonney Lake third at 145.

Enumclaw had two finalist in the classic, as both Levi Nortan at 106 pounds and Sean Wei at 170 took second place.

Team captains are seniors Wei and Wyley Stewart, who will compete at 195.

Eilers said the team is young and the, “Kids are working real hard. We are doing something right. We started out pretty good in the White River Classic.”

Enumclaw hosts a 6 p.m. meet Thursday against Bonney Lake.
