The Sumner Spartan boys lost two South Puget Sound League 3A games and a nonleague contest last week.

Sumner traveled to North Thurston and put together some good minutes despite a 55-49 nonleague loss.

The Spartans hosted Enumclaw Friday and lost 53-28. Sumner hit the road again and traveled to Peninsula on Saturday, losing 64-37.

Sumner hosted Clover Park Tuesday; scores were not available by deadline. The Spartans are back on the road for a 7 p.m. game Friday at Auburn Mountainview.

“We have to keep working hard and it will happen,” coach Brett McDaniel said. “We are still struggling offensively, but defensively I think we’ve found our identity.”

At Peninsula Saturday, Mike Murphy and Austin Thompson scored six each and Jordan Bone hit for five.

At home Friday against Enumclaw, Zeric Cage led the scoring for Sumner with eight points with Bone and Johnnie Greenwood both dropped in five.

At North Thurston Murphy led the scoring with 17 and Bone added 10.
