Icy weather conditions forced Bonney Lake High’s wrestling squad to postpone a scheduled dual meet Dec. 17 with Lakes and, additionally, put the Panthers’ slated journey across the mountains to Pasco’s Best of the West Invitational Friday and Saturday on ice.

“Unfortunately, the roads were real unsafe to be traveling on,” coach Anthony Clarke said. “We were all looking forward to going over there, because it is always a good tourney.”

Instead, the 2-0 Panther wrestling crew will be working hard in the gym, preparing for the Jan. 2-3 Pac-Coast tournament in Vancouver, Wash.

Clarke said he will take 13 wrestlers to Vancouver for the big holiday event that traditionally features skilled wrestlers from Washington, Oregon and Idaho in 32-man brackets.
