Off to Districts

Sumner High produced some top times at Saturday’s South Puget Sound League 3A and Western Cascade Conference subdistrict swim meet in Auburn. Alec Ekstrom was the Spartan’s top finisher winning the 100-yard breaststroke in 1-minute, 05.05 seconds. He also finished third in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:06.80 and raced on a leg of the Spartans’ 200 medley relay. The relay, which also included Zane Gustafson, Brandon Richinson and Zach Morrison, finished third with a time of 1:52.29. SPSL 3A competitor Peninsula won the meet with 545 points. Capital and Lakes took second and third. Enumclaw finished fourth with Sumner fifth. The top finishers Saturday and those who have already posted district times will compete for a chance at the state meet at the district meet Feb. 13 and 14. - Courier-Herald file photo
