Spartans host baseball camp
Sumner High baseball coach John Welker and the Spartans baseball team will conduct a spring baseball camp April 4 and 5 for boys ages 5 to 8 and 6 to 12.
The camp’s objective is to provivde a fun, positive baseball experience for each boy, while teaching fundamentals and improving skills.
The camp will be offered at the Sumner High baseball field. Sessions are 1 to 4 p.m. April 4 for ages 5 to 8 and 1 to 5 p.m. April 5 for ages 6 to 12.
The entry fee is $30 for boys ages 5 to 8 and $40 for those 6 to 12 years old and includes a T-shirt.
In case of rain, the camp will be inside the SHS gymnasium.

Ladies Golf Club opens doors
The Enumclaw Ladies Golf Club will begin the 2009 season on April 7. All ladies interested in playing golf are invited to play nine holes with members at either 9 a.m. or 3 p.m.
Arrive at least a half-hour early. Green fees are $16 and for seniors (age 63 and older) $13.
A potluck luncheon follows morning play. Non-members may play with the club three times without joining (dues are $55 per year) and are invited to attend the spring meeting which takes place immediately after the potluck.
