Timberline bests Panthers
March 23, 2009 · Updated 11:40 PM
The Bonney Lake Panthers got a chance to hit the diamond last week, but fell 18-6 to Timberline in non-eague play Thursday in Lacey, Wash.
The game was called after the top of the fifth inning when umpires imposed the 10-run rule.
Timberline, which collected 12 hits, scored nine runs in the first inning and added eight more in the fourth. Three players homered for the winners.
Bonney Lake scored two runs each in the final three innings.
The Panthers had seven hits and committed two errors.
Last week, rain forced Bonney Lake to cancel games against North Thurston and Enumclaw.
Bonney Lake plays at Clover Park today, Wednesday, in its first Sound Puget Sound League 3A contest. The Panthers travel to Auburn Mountainview Friday and to Lakes Monday for two league games.
