Kellogg, Goch win two events each to lead boys in preseason meet

Enumclaw High’s track and field crew headed for Franklin Pierce High School Thursday for a three-way meet with the host Cardinals and the Bonney Lake Panthers.

The non-scoring meet gave coach Janelle Stussy the opportunity to see her crew in action – one of only a few chances she’ll get during the early part of the season. The Hornets will compete in the Kent-Meridian Invitational Saturday and travel to Renton High for the Arnie Young Invitational April 4.

Individual winners Thursday for the Hornet boys were Abe Kellogg in both the 110- and 300-meter hurdle races, along with Darek Goch in the 100 meters and the 1,600-meter relay team. The relay crew consisted of Kellogg, Graden Timpe, Branden Russell and Larry Calvert.

Winners on the girls’ side were Becca Cross in the 100 meters, Stephanie Schreiner in the 400 and Stephanie Jones in both the hurdle races. Also winning for EHS was the 1,600-meter relay team of Emily Eilertson, Cross, Carissa Gwerder and Amanda Gray.
