The 2009 Enumclaw High girls tennis season started on the right foot with a 4-1 nonleague victory over Yelm March 18, but then Mother Nature put a damper on Friday’s South Puget Sound League 3A home opener, forcing the Hornets to reschedule the contest with Peninsula.

The Hornets get another chance to hit the courts at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in another nonleague match at Capital.

Against the Tornadoes, Amanda Oster won her singles match 6-0, 6-1.

Anna Nelson and Lauren Redman teamed up to score the Hornets a 6-2, 6-1 doubles victory. Enumclaw won all three doubles matches with Julie Sanders and Breanna Pierce winning, 6-1, 6-2, and Gina Sanders and Bedda Johnson, winning 6-0, 6-4.
