The White River High soccer team will keep busy with three games in a span of five days.
Things get rolling Friday when the Hornets make the short trip to Bonney Lake to challenge the Panthers. Even though both are members of the South Puget Sound League 3A, the game will be a nonleague affair. The two will meet later in the season in a game that counts toward the league standings.
Monday and Tuesday will have the Hornets taking on a pair of nonleague foes, both on the White River campus. Monday has North Thurston coming to Buckley and Tuesday will have Fife making an appearance.
The Hornets kicked off the 2009 campaign March 17 with a 2-1 victory over the visiting Auburn Mountainview Lions.
“We controlled most of the game,” assistant coach Travis Tremblay said.
Despite that, the teams entered halftime in a scoreless tie.
The Lions answered the bell first, netting a goal in the 50th minute.
White River responded 10 minutes later when Ricky Mau scored off an assist by Jessie Ritz. Two minutes later they switched roles, with Ritz scoring the game-winner thanks to a Mau assist.
The Hornets played one game earlier this week, traveling to play Capital High Tuesday; results came too late to be included here.
