The Enumclaw High Hornets kick off South Puget Sound League 3A soccer action today, Wednesday, making the short trip down state Route 410 to challenge the Bonney Lake Panthers.
Game time on the Bonney Lake campus is set for 7 p.m.
The Hornets return to nonleague action Monday when they host North Thurston and will host Sumner April 10 in their second SPSL 3A game. The Hornets had one nonleague game earlier this week, hosting Capital High Monday afternoon; results came too late to be included here, but will be posted at www.courierherald.com.
Enumclaw High had a pair of nonleague games last week, falling at Steilacoom 2-0 Friday and battling to a 3-3 tie against Peninsula High March 24.
Coach Skip Ashley said his crew played “very well” Friday, despite coming up short. The Hornets kept defensive pressure the entire way, despite falling behind in the first minute of the contest. Steilacoom is a smaller, Class 2A program, but is a regular playoff contender.
The back-and-forth encounter with the Peninsula Seahawks included a pair of Enumclaw goals by Jordan Savage and one by Dylan Riley.
