Lady Spartans down Lions, 4-1

The Sumner Spartans hit the road Thursday for a 4-1 South Puget Sound League 3A victory over Auburn Mountainview.

Julia Charuhas won her singles match 6-1, 6-3, while Brittany Fulton lost 6-3, 6-4.

Sumner swept all three double matches. Emily Taylor and Reanne Charuhas recorded a 6-4, 6-3 win, Erinn Carlson and Lyndsey Plute had to go three games for a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 decision, and Rachel Hilburn and Trish Mayer won 7-5, 6-1.

After spring break, Sumner travels to face Yelm Tuesday in nonleague play. The Spartans play at Enumclaw April 9 in SPSL 3A action.
