Sumner tied for third place

Martin Schmuck scored in the ninth minute of play as Sumner tied Enumclaw, 1-1, in South Puget Sound League 3A action Friday at Sunset Chev Stadium.

It was the first league tie and the third for the Spartans this season.

Schmuck and Sam Hoyt each scored solo goals in the Spartans’ 2-1 SPSL 3A win April 6 at Auburn Mountainview.

The teams battled to a scoreless first half. Hoyt scored his goal in the first minute of play in the second half, then Schmuck scored his goal in the 55th minute of play.

Sumner plays Friday at Enumclaw and at Franklin Pierce Tuesday.
