Baumchen cruises to 800-meter victory

Branon Baumchen won the 800-meter run for the Bonney Lake Panthers in a three-team South Puget Sound League 3A meet against White River and Lakes Thursday in Lakewood.

Baumchen took first place with a time of 1 minute, 59.31 seconds.

Andrew Allen finished third in the 1,600 meters in 11:05.24 and Ben Hansen took third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 18.98. Jordin Andrede was second in the 300 hurdles at 44.59.

In the field events, Bobby Nix was third in the shot put with a throw of 43 feet, 6 1/2 inches.

Bonney Lake will compete Thursday against host Auburn Mountainview and Clover Park in their second double-dual league meet of the season.
