Bonney Lake Track and Field: Bonney Lake girls score a league meet win

The Bonney Lake High girls hammered Clover Park, 128-7, and Auburn Mountainview, 83-62, in a three-team South Puget Sound League 3A meet Thursday at Auburn Mountainview.

Taylor Howick won the 100- and 200-meter runs in 13.20 and 27.10 seconds, respectively.

Leslie Cannon won the 400 in 1:04.30 and Shelby Roland was first in the 100 hurdles at 16.30.

Distance runner Veronica Stinnett was first in the 800 with a time of 2:25.44 and the 1,600 with a time of 5:18.57. Theresa Edwards took first in the 3,200 at 12:00.66.

The Panthers’ 4x200 relay team finished with a first-place time of 1:51.90.

Tara Kilmer and Haylie Cannon were the top performers in the field events. Kilmer won the shot put with a throw of 39 feet, 3 inches, while Cannon jumped 4-8 to win the high jump.

In the boys’ competition, Bonney Lake fell to Auburn Mountainview, 78-67, and tied Clover Park with 72 points.

Bobby Nix won the shot put with a throw of 43-3 1/2, while Sean Smith cleared 11-0 to win the pole vault event.

Brandon Baumchen captured first in the 800 in 2:00.

Bonney Lake will host Enumclaw and Peninsula in a three-team league meet Thursday.
