Rugby plays at Bonney Lake

The Fighting Highlanders, whose roster is packed with personnel from local high schools, will be hosting a tough Liberty Lion contingent in Pacific Northwest Junior Rugby action at 6 tonight, Wednesday, at Bonney Lake High School. There is no admission fee.

The inexperienced 0-4 band of Highlanders has found tough sledding so far this season, but coach Andy Ramsey said he is optimistic about his squad’s chances against a similar Liberty group.

In the Highlanders’ most recent setback, a 33-5 rout at the hands of the Budd’s Bay Barbarians, Collins High School student Asaiah Figueroa was the sole scorer from his center position on the backline.
