The Enumclaw High Hornets finished the regular season strong and enter postseason play today, Wednesday, as the No. 3 seed from the South Puget Sound League 3A.
The Hornets, 4-1-3, will travel to Burien’s Highline Stadium where they will meet the No. 3 club from the Seamount League. No matter the outcome, Enumclaw will play again at 11 a.m. Saturday: a victory today would return the Hornets to Highline Stadium while a loss would send EHS to Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood.
The Hornets played three league games during the final five days of the season and, by picking up two victories and a tie, were able to leapfrog other squads and take the league’s third spot.
Enumclaw polished off the regular season Friday by hosting a White River crew that was looking to snap a two-game losing skid, eventually battling to a scoreless tie.
Enumclaw had picked up six crucial points earlier last week, defeating Peninsula High 3-0 on May 4 and beating the winless Lakes Lancers 6-0 May 6. Jordan Savage added to his impressive scoring totals with two goals against Peninsula and three against Lakes. Also scoring against the Seahawks was Nathan Bundy; adding goals against Lakes were Luke Andrew, Dylan Riley and Kevin Flowers.Contact Enumclaw Courier Herald Senior Writer, Editor Kevin Hanson at email@example.com or 360-802-8205.
