Enumclaw fastpitch: EHS earns No. 2 seed
May 12, 2009 · Updated 11:33 AM
Not much changed for the Enumclaw High fastpitch squad from last week, as it played only one game at Franklin Pierce and edged the Cardinals 6-4 to push its South Puget Sound League 3A record to 11-2.
Despite not playing its scheduled rivalry game with White River Thursday due to heavy rains, the Hornets are still going to be the No. 2 seed out of the SPSL 3A into the upcoming subdistrict tournament at Sprinker in Spanaway Thursday and Friday.
Enumclaw will still be locking horns with an undefeated 16-0 Kennedy High crew at 4 p.m. Friday and EHS coach Michael Eckhart says his Hornets have a chip on their shoulder.
The Hornets outhit a tough Franklin Pierce squad last week 12-3. Ashley Dell’Osa went 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBI and speedy Taylor Franich was 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs scored.
