May 12, 2009 · Updated 11:46 AM
Sumner High’s Taylor Bethards will fight for one of the final spots into the Class 3A state girls golf tournament Monday morning during the West Central/Southwest District tournament at Eagles Pride Golf Course (formerly Fort Lewis).
Bethards earned her shot at the state tournament in October at the league subdistrict tournament at Tacoma’s Chamber’s Bay Golf Course. She will tee off at 9:40 a.m. Monday against Stephanie Green of Lakes and the Greater St. Helen’s League’s No. 6 finisher. The top finishers Monday advance to the state tournament May 27 and 28 at Horns Rapid Golf Course in Richland, Wash.
