The White River High girls tennis team was making a show of it at the subdistrict tournament, but Rachel Hoflack and the doubles team of Haley Havelock and Courtney Hall came up shy of a spot at the West Central District tournament which began play Tuesday at Sprinker Recreation Center in Spanaway, Wash.

The top seven at the district tournament will advance to the state tournament May 29 and 30 in Vancouver, Wash.

Hoflack took the No. 5 seed into the subdistrict tournament, which concluded Thursday in Lacey, Wash. Havelock and Hall went in as the No. 8 seed after defeating Lakes 6-6 (7-4), 6-2 in the league tournament.

The Hornets finished the regular season Friday with a makeup contest against Enumclaw. Enumclaw got the best of White River, 5-0.
