Phil Bivens pumps his fist in victory after 18 holes of action at the Aug. 5 Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce fundraising Golf Classic at the Enumclaw Golf Course, while Stephanie Erickson picks up some goodies from tournament chair Bryan Stanwood. The annual fundraising Golf Classic’s Low Gross Overall winning team consisted of Aaron Mayer, Phil Whitman, Andy Ward and Jeff Whealdon. The team earned $200, $50 each, in Chamber Dollars. Earning top handicap honors, net, was the team of John Wise, Linda Wise, Clark Close and Ken Erickson. They picked up $200, $50 each, for their winning effort. Right behind them in the same category was the team of Barry Carel, Russ Dzingle, Gary Swindler and Zach Dzingle, which earned $140 as a team, $35 each. Third place went to Peter Erickson, Jon Erickson, Scott Johnson and Tony Howells. They took home $100 as a team, $25 each. Dan Roach, Jim Roach, Dave Roach and Peter Carrington claimed the winning Open (net) spot. The foursome scored $200 as a team, $50 each. Hot on their heels in the same division were Glenn MacCorkle, Jason Keck, Jason Schaut and Hank Bergstressor. Each earned $35 each, $140 as a team. More than $10,000 was raised by the event. Chamber Director Cathy Rigg said the money will go back into the community for marketing local businesses. “Everyone had a great time,” Rigg said. “It was great; great weather, great food, great fun.”
