Desite an 80-32 loss, a more experienced White River High girls golf team took to Canterwood Golf Course to face Peninsula Sept. 15, coach Jer Argo said.

"We improved greatly from our first match," Argo said.

The Hornets were led by the 10 points of Tia Johnson, who shot 61. Rebecca Norris pitched in with eight points, also carding a 61. The improved play of Caitlyn Miller helped out as she shot 66 with a season-best seven points. Jordynn Smith and Christina Parker each had three points.

White River travels to Enumclaw at 3:15 p.m. Sept. 24 and then host Lakes Sept. 29.
