EHS TENNIS: Hornets improve record with win over Panthers

Enumclaw High’s boys tennis team scored another league victory Friday with a 3-2 win over visiting Bonney Lake.

EHS’s Dan Milat picked up a 6-1, 6-0 No. 1 singles win over Zach Volin.

The Hornets’ No. 2 doubles team of Matt Zender and Justin Williams defeated Andrew Allen and Devon Crump, 6-3, 6-3, while teammates Levi Goodin and Casey Claire topped Sam Davidson and Spencer Workman 6-3 then went to a 12-10 tiebreaker for the second set.

Bonney Lake earned its two wins in No. 2 singles when Taylor Pringle defeated Landon Berry 6-4, 6-4 and in No. 1 doubles when Ben Davidson and Steven Scott defeated Jeremy and Tyler McCarthy. The Hornets picked up the first set 6-3, but the Panthers took the next two, 6-4, 6-4.

The Hornets dropped a 5-0 nonleague contest to Capital Sept. 16.

With a 3-1 overall record, EHS traveled to North Thurston Monday, results came too late to be posted here, and heads to Sumner for a 3:30 p.m. match today, Wednesday, Auburn Mountainview Friday and the Kitsap Invitational Saturday.
