A 3-2 win over Peninsula High Sept. 30 and another over Yelm Friday kept the Hornets on the winning side as postseason approaches.

The 6-4 Hornets were scheduled to travel to Bonney Lake Monday. Results of both those contests were not available at press time, but can be found at www.courierherald.com. The Hornets host Auburn Mountainview today, Wednesday, travel to Sumner Friday and close out the regular season Monday by hosting Enumclaw. Match time for all three is 3:30 p.m.

White River’s three doubles teams were winners against Peninsula.

Steve Root and Cameron Sautner won 6-2, 6-4. Mike Baron and Dillon Meyers won 6-1, 6-1 and Tanner Williams and Josh Milles won 6-2, 6-2.

The Hornets lost a 4-0 contest Sept. 28 to Lakes with the No. 3 doubles match called early due to rain.

In the Hornets’ 3-2 win over Yelm, Will Whitaker won his first set 6-3, dropped the second 6-4 and took the third 6-3. The Hornets’ doubles teams of Sautner and Root and Meyers and Baron were also winners. Sautner and Root swept the set after a tiebreaker and Meyers and Baron split a pair of tiebreakers before winning the final set 6-3.
