The Sumner High girls soccer squad had a tough week, traveling to Capital Oct. 6 and dropping a nonleague tilt 1-0 and then visiting Enumclaw and losing a South Puget Sound League 3A encounter 4-1.

The setbacks worsened the Spartans’ league mark to 0-1-1 and their nonleague record to 4-2-3.

Sumner senior striker Kaylee Holloway recorded the solitary goal of the week. Holloway registered her goal early in the clash with Enumclaw, to knot the score at one apiece off an assist by Alex Murray in the 11th minute of the contest.

The Spartans, reeling from consecutive losses for the first time in a long time, will try to recover and get back on the winning track against two lesser league foes. SHS hosted Franklin Pierce Tuesday, with the results too late to include here, and will travel to Clover Park Thursday.
