Enumclaw High’s volleyball squad remained in the playoff hunt last week, beating winless Franklin Pierce and Clover Park to improve to 3-2 in South Puget Sound League 3A action.
The Hornets beat Franklin Pierce Oct. 13 25-11, 25-18 and 25-9 as senior hitter Jessica Decker accounted for 9 kills.
Thursday, the Hornets quickly dispatched the Warriors, bludgeoning them in three straight contests 25-10, 25-11 and 25-15. Junior setter Gina Sanders had a combined total of 46 assists in the tandem of easy conquests.
Enumclaw traveled to Lakes on Monday; results came too late to include here but will be posted at wwwcourierherald.com. The Hornets will host a feisty Peninsula bunch at 7:15 tonight, Wednesday, in Chuck Smith Gymnasium. Enumclaw travels to White River Monday.
“We are hoping that the match with White River doesn’t go to five games, because they have way more experience this season in that realm,” Hornet coach Jackie Carel said. “But we are learning how to win the close ones and are just enjoying the journey.”
