The White River High girls trekked north Monday to participate in the prestigious King Holiday Hoopfest and headed home on the short end of a 54-42 decision against Kentwood High.

For Kentwood, 5-1 guard Kylie Huerta scored exactly half her team's total, finishing with 27.

With the loss, White River dropped to 10-2 overall. In South Puget Sound League 3A play, the Hornets are in first place with a 7-1 record.
