White River tennis team beats Timberline

The White River High girls tennis team evened its season record at 2-2 with a 4-1 nonleague victory over Timberline Thursday.

In singles action, Morgan Wilson topped her Timberline opponent 6-1, 6-2 in No. 1 play. At No. 2 singles, Holly Hodgson cruised past Alyssa Thrasher 6-3, 6-2.

The Hornets’ No. 1 doubles duo of Haley Havelock and Courtney Hall won 6-2, 6-0. It was a hard-fought victory for White River’s No. 2 doubles team of Kelli Hoffman and Heidi Lyons. After dropping the first set, 6-2, the Hornet pair rallied for 6-4 and 6-3 victories to take the match.

The Hornets, 0-1 in league, return to the courts Tuesday to host undefeated Enumclaw at 3:30 p.m.
