Salsbury wins golf open in Tacoma

Tyler Salsbury won the ninth- through 12th-grade boys division of the 2010 Northwest Junior Golf Tour Tacoma Junior Open March 27 and 28. The Enumclaw High sophomore shot an even-par 71 on the opening day of competition at Oakbrook Golf and Country Club and finished with a 4-over par 76 at Whispering Firs Golf Course.

Hornet teammate Jake Erickson finished ninth with a two-day stroke total of 155.

In the boys fifth- and sixth-grade division, Enumclaw’s Jared Beals finished eighth among 62 golfers with a two-day total of 183.

Enumclaw’s Torey Schreiner competed in the girls division, finishing 15th with a two-day stroke total of 180.
