Enumclaw High is suddenly the hottest team in the Sough Puget Sound League 3A.

The team hasn’t lost in April, winning five tilts in a row by a total of 25 runs.

Enumclaw was a rude host April 13, as the Hornets pummeled Bonney Lake 13-6.

Bonney Lake pounced to a 6-3 lead going into the bottom of the second stanza, but with home runs from Tyler Carlson and Kyle Thomson the maroon and gold notched 10 runs in the next three innings.

April 14, the Hornets hopped a bus to Sumner.

Sumner’s Brad Falk helped the Spartan cause immediately, providing SHS with a 2-0 start in the bottom of the first inning when he tattooed a two-run roundtripper.

Enumclaw came back to tie things in the top of the fourth frame, but Sumner went ahead 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth.

Hornet reliever Levi Goodin, the game’s eventual winning pitcher, got EHS out of that jam.

With the assistance of a power-packed pinch hit double from Austin Grau, two EHS base runners crossed the plate and Enumclaw held a slim 4-3 upper hand going into the bottom of the seventh.

Michael Lucarelli struck out the game’s final better to secure the win for the red-hot Hornets.
