The Enumclaw baseball squad capped a three-win week with an 18-5, five inning triumph Saturday at Clover Park.

EHS hosted Peninsula Thursday in a slugfest that featured 30 hits and 23 runs. Enumclaw prevailed in the bottom of the eighth inning with the bases loaded and the score knotted at seven, Cody Hughes, scampered home with the winning run. EHS shortstop Michael Lucarelli went 3 for 3 with two doubles, a home run and three RBIs.

During a Friday contest with Auburn Mountainview, sandwiched between Thursday’s cliffhanger and Saturday’s blowout, pitching was far more of a factor than it had been the previous day.

Enumclaw junior Marcus Madden relinquished one second-inning run, scattering four hits over seven innings of toil. Conversely, Enumclaw racked up a dozen hits against AMHS to win handily 7-1.
