White River High saw its overall record slip to 3-7-2 with a 2-1, nonleague loss at Yelm Friday. The Hornets’ South Puget Sound League 3A mark sat at 2-2 through games of last week.
At Yelm, White River’s Zach Welch scored an early goal to give the Hornets a quick lead, but the Tornadoes came through with a tying goal later in the first half and added a game-winner in the second.
The Hornets’ SPSL 3A record went to the break-even mark April 20 when the team traveled to Peninsula and absorbed a 2-1 defeat.
The host Seahawks took a lead with a goal in each half and White River didn’t hit the scoreboard until Diego Pelayo scored late in the contest.
