After a season in which the White River High baseball team went 11-5 in league and had a promising subdistrict tournament, the 2010 campaign ended abruptly.
White River was the loser in a tandem of critical games May 12 and Thrusday at the West Central District III tournament. First the Hornets fell 5-2 to Capital then 5-2 to Columbia River.
WRHS also committed four errors, struck out 14 times and by the bottom of only the first inning had dug themselves a deep hole from which they would never recover, falling behind 4-0 and scoring a mere one run in both the third and sixth frames.
Saturday, White River was mired down with errors as they booked four more miscues on the Memorial Park diamond against Columbia River.
