ENUMCLAW TRACK AND FIELD: Schreiner tops EHS with fifth place

Enumclaw High School was represented by four athletes at the state Class 3A track and field championships, staged at Mount Tahoma High in Tacoma.

The Hornets were paced by senior Stephanie Schreiner, who had qualified for three events a week earlier at the West Central District championships.

Against the best from all corners of the state, Schreiner wound up fifth in the triple jump with an effort of 35 feet, 1.25 inches. She was sixth in the 400-meter run with a time of 58.39 seconds and placed seventh in the 200 meters with a clocking of 26.48.

Also earning state trip for EHS were Braden Timpe, Joe Cerne and AnnaMarie Forza.

Timpe finished seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.85, Cerne was 11th in the javelin with a throw of 153-3 and Forza was 12th in the girls javelin competition with a best toss of 102-8.
