Bonney Lake High football camp offered June 28-July 1; Seahawk, Huskies will address campers
June 23, 2010 · 2:56 PM
Bonney Lake High School will offer its annual Panther Future Champs football camp for third- through eighth-graders from 9 a.m. to noon June 28 through July 1 on the high school's football field.
Campers should dress for the warm weather, bring or wear a pair of tennis or turf shoes and a water bottle. Camp registration is $75 and walk-ups are welcome for an additional $10 late fee.
The camp staff, managed by BLHS coach Chad Barrett, aspires to provide each camper with a fun and exciting week of football highlighted by two flag football games per day, a punt-pass-and-kick competition, fundamental skill instruction and end-of-camp awards. Each camper will be given a camp T-shirt and a Panther championship logo football.
On the first day, campers will be treated to a chance to meet, speak with and obtain autographs from Seattle Seahawk defensive back Josh Wilson. During the final day of camp, University of Washington players Jake Locker and Cody Habben will speak and do a little coaching.
Any current Bonney Lake gridders interested in earning community service hours, can volunteer to coach their positions, mentor the flag football teams or serve as role models for the attending campers.
Those youngsters who will be late arrivals, should call in advance to notify camp coordinators of their T-shirt size.
