Area athletes among SPSL’s all-league picks

Thirteen Hornets were recognized when league coaches made their postseason picks. Heading the all-league list were a pair of first-team performers, offensive lineman Sam Fisher and linebacker Mauricio Portillo. Both are seniors.

Thirteen Hornets were recognized when league coaches made their postseason picks.

Heading the all-league list were a pair of first-team performers, offensive lineman Sam Fisher and linebacker Mauricio Portillo. Both are seniors.

Second-team picks included senior Evan McCrillis, named as both a linebacker and returner, along with senior offensive lineman Chandler Streuli, senior defensive back Mitchell Hammond; juniors named to the second team were receiver Trey Rodarte and defensive lineman Eli Dennison.

Two Hornets made the honorable mention list twice, senior Nick Conrad as a tight end and linebacker and seniors Peter Nordby as a punter and defensive back.  Portillo, McCrillis and senior Cameron Strecker were honorable mention running backs. Also  receiving honorable mention were senior offensive linemen Logan Chlebowski and Brendon Streeper, senior defensive lineman Bailey Deters and junior defensive back Tarik Hagan.

Enumclaw volleyball

A pair of EHS players – senior Olivia Bannerot and sophomore Barbie Becker – were named to the SPSL 3A first team. Making the second team were junior Hayley Sonneson and sophomore Victoria Hernandez.

Aditionally, the volleyball squad compiled an aggregate grade-point average of 3.91,  the best of any Class 3A team in the state.

White River volleyball

A pair of seniors, Cassidy Kunst and Alisha Bidwell, were named to the SPSL 2A first team.

Earning honorable mention was sophomore Kelsey Williams.

Enumclaw soccer

Hannah Dahlquist and Courtney Bone were honored with first-team selection, while Mia Fornelius, Payton Hodgman and Mariah Bone made the second team. Receiving honorable mention was Katie Christiansen.

Enumclaw girls cross country

A trio of Hornets – Aleea Gwerder, Samantha Engebretsen and Abby Callison – were honored with selection to the first team.

Eric Hamel were a first-team selection and a pair of Hornets, Josh Sanders and Hayden Schmitt, made the second team.

Enumclaw girls golf

Seniors Maddie Pillo and Kadyn Eldridge, along with junior Faith Hardersen, received first-team honors. Two teammates – freshman Lexi Dechon and junior Meagan Johnson – landed on the second team.

Additionally, the EHS girls were the league academic champions, compiling a team grade-point average of 3.71. First-team all-academic selections included Johnson, 3.99, Eldridge, 3.91, and Hardersen, 3.83.

Named to the second team were sophomores Maci Goethals, Jordanne Fray and Sydnee Scott, along with junior Brooklyn Isaacs.

Enumclaw boys golf

A trio of Hornets – Carson Erwin, Josh Erickson and Bill Miller – earned second-team honors. All are sophomores.

Making the academic first-team were Bill Miller, 3.95, and Dylan Miller, 3.88.

White River boys golf

Earning first-team honors were senior Ryan Kolisch and junior Bryce Dahl. Making the second team was junior Matt Walker and receiving honorable mention was junior Drew Kacer.
