Bonney Lake’s boys wrestling team barely edged out the Sumner Spartans 37-36 on Tuesday night. The two teams faced off in a crosstown rivalry dual meet hosted at Bonney Lake High School.

Bonney Lake wins by pin were: 106-pound Carson Corbally over Conner Wade in 1 minute 25 seconds; 113-pound Andrew Johnson over Tucker Wooding in 1:55; 132-pound Colton Tracy over Josiah Schliesman in 1:20; and 138-Pound Caid Caveness over Wyatt James in 3:11.

Sumner wins by pin were: 120-pound Travis Filleau over Jordan Cozzi in 0:23; 126-pound Hunter Eberhart over Giusepe Sabin in 4:44; Jed Schliesman over Michael Tucker in 1:13; and Zach Summer over Kasey Board in 5:46.

Of victories determined by point decision, Bonney Lake 182-pounder Chilli Sabin had the most devastating win of the night, coming out 10-1 over Victor Padilla.

Sumner’s 160-pound AJ Atoigue defeated Cayel William 9-7. Sumner’s 170-pound Zach Wooding defeated Alex Rae 6-2.

Bonney Lake’s Matt Yuste, 145 pounds, defeated Jeremy Jackson 8-5.

Bonney Lake’s David Smith, 285 pounds, won his match against Zach Shipton by default.

Sumner’s Justin Myers, 195 pounds, won by forfeit.

Bonney Lake travels to Decatur High School today for a dual meet at 6 p.m.

Sumner will host a dual meet tomorrow against Franklin Pierce at 7 p.m. in the Sumner High gym.
