Boys and girls victory over Auburn Mountainview | Bonney Lake Cross Country
The Bonney Lake boys and girls cross country team ran to victories over Auburn Mountain View on Sept. 26. The boys team, led by Nolan Weber won 22-43 while the girls, led by Sierra Espinal, won 21-43.
Weber finished second in his race, just two seconds behind the winner, and was followed by fellow Panthers Ryan McGraw in third, Jacob Bohl in fourth, Eric Voellger in fifth and Jacob Curtis in eighth.
Espinal won her race, easily, best the second place finisher by more than a minute. She was joined by Melissa Arima in third, Haley Theriault in fourth, Haley Prigle in fifth and Bethany Sweers in eighth.
The cross-country team take son Decatur Wednesday.

Oakpointe is gearing up to start home construction in the Ten Trails project in Black Diamond — the developer is only waiting for is final authorization by the City Council. Final plat authorization was submitted by Oakpointe to city staff on Aug. 30, and after staff review, sent to the City Council for action on the Oct. 5 meeting. Council tabled the item to the Oct. 19 meeting. Additionally, a new roundabout opened in the city.
Some Black Diamond residents have been the target of a recent phone scam by an individual that identifies themselves as a police officer, at times using a legitimate officer’s name.
