Bonney Lake High School’s boys wrestling team came in 12th place at the Rumble Wrestling Tournament in Orem, Utah Friday and Saturday.

The Panthers were only three points shy of taking 10th place, coach Anthony Clarke said.

Chili Sabin, wrestling at 182 pounds, was the champion of his weight class. 160-pounder Cayle Williams took fourth in his class, and 126-pounder Colton Tracy took fifth.

“To give some perspective on how tough of a tournament this was, the 126 pound weight class had three multiple-time state champions, two one-time state champs, four other state runner-ups and about five top four finishers,” Clarke said. “The 138 pound weight class had two of the top ten ranked wrestlers in the nation wrestling in the finals.

“It was truly an accomplishment for our young wrestlers to compete, let alone place at a tournament like this.”

Matt Yuste, 152 pounds, and Caid Caveness, 138 pounds, each came one victory short of placing in their weight classes.
