Cross country honors received at White River, Enumclaw

White River High dominated the field when South Puget Sound League 2A cross country postseason honors were passed out; EHS runners fared well, too.

White River High dominated the field when South Puget Sound League 2A cross country postseason honors were passed out.

The Hornets’ Marcus Dickson was named Boy Athlete of the Year, Lauryn Wate was tabbed Girl Athlete of the Year and Dameon Marlow captured Coach of the Year honors.

Aside from those accolades, Dickson and Wate received first-team all-league honors. Joining Dickson on the boys’ first team were teammates Kody Gould, Kyle Smith and Chris Fisher. Wes Fueston was chosen for second-team honors.On the girls’ side, White River’s Kelly Coyle picked up second-team honors.

In the SPSL 3A voting, Enumclaw High’s Cory Johnson and Alec Rhome earned first-team accolades.

For the EHS girls, Chandler Weiman, Hannah Calvert, Taryn Schreiner and Peyton Vick were named to the second team.
