EHS BASEBALL: Hornets stay perched at top of league standings

Enumclaw High’s baseball squad is still perched at the top of the South Puget Sound League 3A standings with a 5-1 league record after hosting and clobbering Peninsula 9-2.

The good news is Enumclaw High’s baseball squad is still perched at the top of the South Puget Sound League 3A standings with a 5-1 league record after hosting and clobbering Peninsula 9-2, in the only game it played amongst the miserable weather.

The bad news is there are two weeks remaining in the regular season and if the rain continues it is going to be difficult to make up the dozen or so games left.

During last week’s lone contest, Enumclaw pitcher Levi Goodin earned his fourth victory of the campaign and got great run support from his hitters as EHS dominated Peninsula in every phase of the affair. Enumclaw’s sticks were in full swing as extra base hits abounded and the Hornet wrecking crew lit up a decent pitcher. Enumclaw seniors D.J. Hitch and Kyle Thomsen both belted triples and Eric Koenig broke the game wide open as he sent a ball over the center field fence to put Enumclaw out front 6-0.
