EHS GOLF: Salsbury, Sweeney lead Enumclaw

Tyler Salsbury led the EHS boys team and all golfers for the day with a 6-under par 66 on the Olympic Course for Round One Thursday. It was another Enumclaw High individual course record for the junior. Teammate Tim Livermore was tied for second at 73. Colton McClusky, 76, Dylan Kleist, 79, Chase Dolliver, 80, and Kurt Kindsvater, 80, rounded out the Top 10.

EHS finished the season with an 11-0 record and its 21st league championship and fourth-straight SPSL Medalist title.

The Lady Hornets were led by Kelly Sweeney, who finished third at 80 on the par-72 course. Fellow Hornets Tiffany Wilkening, 84, Janie Francis, 89, Molly Roe, 89, and Claire Hinman, 93, were right behind in fourth, fifth, sixth and ninth respectively. Madeline Petellin, who won the junior varsity qualifying tournament Oct. 12, finished 10th at 94.

The girls, who finished 10-1, added another title, their ninth in a row, 15th overall, and their fifth straight SPSL Medalist crown.

The top finishers, boys and girls, Tuesday earn a spot in May’s Class 3A state tournament. The next group of finishers will play in the spring qualifying tournament for the remaining yet-to-be-determined positions.
